Red Light Therapy is closely related to laser therapy, but typically uses LED panels or lamps that emit red and near-infrared light. At Body Renewal Health Centre, our Red Light Therapy involves exposing an area of the body (or even your full body, if using a larger panel) to these low-level lights for a short period (usually 15-20 minutes). The red light penetrates into the skin and tissues, encouraging cellular energy production (mitochondrial activity) and blood circulation, which in turn can reduce inflammation and promote healing.

Red Light Therapy is painless, relaxing, and does not involve needles or touching – you simply sit or lie near the light source. It’s a great option for:

  • General pain relief: It can help alleviate chronic pain in joints or muscles by reducing inflammation.

  • Skin health: Many use red light for improving skin conditions like acne or to promote collagen for skin rejuvenation. While our focus is therapeutic, you might notice side benefits like improved skin tone in treated areas!

  • Muscle recovery: Athletes or active individuals find sessions post-workout can decrease soreness and speed muscle recovery.

  • Mood and energy: Some studies suggest red light exposure can help with seasonal mood issues and boost energy levels by supporting cellular function.

At our clinic, Red Light Therapy can be done on its own or added to another treatment (for example, after a massage, you might spend 15 minutes under a red light panel to further relax muscles and enhance the treatment effects). We’ll ensure you wear protective eyewear if needed and are comfortable throughout the session.
